But don’t worry, they let us out!
Recently one department within the State of Minnesota contacted us about a FileMaker application which they used internally in one of the state prisons. Because it was accessible to the inmates, for security reasons it could not have access to the internet. We usually work remotely on FileMaker from our offices in Minneapolis, but this would require on-site work. So we headed to the prison to do the work directly.
Once there we had a chance to do some FileMaker tune-up work on their application, interacting both with the admin staff as well as the prisoners who use FileMaker to run their internal manufacturing processes.
The takeaway from this experience is that FileMaker is such a versatile tool that it can be used anywhere. And even an inmate with no outside access can learn how to use it fairly well. (And just call on us for the tricky stuff. 🙂
