FileMaker Contextual Menus

FileMaker Pro is a very powerful program but you need to know how to take advantage of its many features, like contextual menus. From simple tricks to more complex operations, FM features can help you speed up and automate your business.

Try using the right-click from within any field in your FileMaker application, and you will see a contextual menu which allows you to do many common tasks. You can do the entire set of search operations “Find Matching Records” “Constrain Found Set” and “Extend Found Set”. You can also sort your current set of records Ascending, Descending, or by a specified Value List sort order, Days of the Week, for example.

You can even export the contents of the field you are on across the entire set of found records.

It’s a simple trick, but it will save you some time.
