FileMaker has a powerful, but little used, menu item called “Copy All Records”.
You can find it in the Edit menu. Select ‘edit’ and you will see the ‘copy’ command. To make this hidden feature appear, hold down the ‘option’ key on Mac (might be ‘alt’ on Windows), and you will see “Copy” change to “Copy All Records”.
What is so great about this is that it will copy every visible field on your current layout, across all records in your current found set.
So if you had a bunch of first & last names, followed by emails, and you want all of those in a spread sheet, you just use the “Copy All Records” command, open a spreadsheet, and “paste”. And you are done.
Very slick!
That’s another beautiful tip for FileMaker!
