HighPower Freelance Software: The Worklog Extras
There are two parts of the Worklog which will help you gain control of your freelance agency.
Worklog Part One: the Main Data Entry screen
This is the primary data entry screen, which is the workhorse of the whole system. It is the primary Worklog page which tracks all the work which you and all of your developers, designers, graphics artists, programmers, and software engineers are working on every day.
I have explained the page in a previous blog here. But here is a quick overview: The left side of the Worklog screen has three columns for Clients, Projects, and Tasks. It has a drill-down effect, so when you choose a Client, you see just the Projects for that Client. Then when you choose a Project, you see just the Tasks assigned to that Project. And then the right side of the Worklog screen is the actual list of all the work done throughout the day. A user can quickly jump between Tasks with the “one-click selection”, which instantly turns off the clock on one Task, and turns on the clock for the new Task.
So that is the main Worklog Data Entry screen, and it is a fabulous time-saving tool which helps you and your agency to easily track every minute worked.
Worklog Part Two: the Worklog Extras screen
The flip-side of the Worklog is the Extras screen. Here is where you can do all of the analysis, searches, queries, and ‘what if’ questions about your agency work. Here is what it looks like.
Notice the three large blue buttons across the top.
They are:
- Find by Dates
- Which contains additional buttons:
- Find Today
- Find Yesterday
- Last 7 (days)
- Last 14 (days)
- Last 30 (days)
- Last 90 (days)
- Last 365 (days)
- Search
- Which contains additional entry options for:
- Searching by Client
- Search by Project
- Search by Task
- Search by Staff person
- Search by Date
- or search by any combination of these factors
- Actions
- Which contains additional action buttons for:
- Find Uninvoiced Worklogs
- Omit Invoiced Worklogs
- Create Invoices
- Create Income Report
- Find Uncharged Work
- Sort by Client, Project, Staff person
- Find Uninvoiced Worklogs by a Date Range
So as you can see, there are a tremendous amount of additional control actions which you can take to review and understand the status of your freelance agency business.
If you want to run a successful and growing freelance agency, then the Worklog is your friend. You will use it every day, and it will give you a great feeling of confidence knowing that you are in control of your business and all its details
